Downton Abbey. Sigh. I was hooked by the Pride & Prejudice-like cinematography in the Downton intro upon my first watching. Then there's the strings and piano music taut with drama, and the elegant, elaborate costumes, and the intrigue of the separate worlds of the service people of the estate and the ladies and gents of the estate. The upper and lower class expect certain treatment from each other, but are cordial and sometimes friendly outside of their high society/low society bubbles. The house maids seem to have more fun/more use in the world, so if I lived then I may want to be part of the "downstairs." Naw, I would want to be Lady Sybil, who is a beautiful daughter of the house, cutting edge in fashion and ideas, and a hard-working nurse on the side.

Other fantastic British shows to watch online:
The Paradise
Oh,
Mr. Moray! Dare you not to love him at first sight. The first
department store ever, and delicious drama within it's adorned walls.
Call the Midwife
Eye-opening,
educational show about midwifery in rundown areas. I empathize with
nurse Chummy. She looks to be a clumsy 6'4, but proves to be quite
competent!
I thought about Downton this morning because I am taking a sewing class and when it's finished, I am going to make a Downton tote my first project. Then (10 years into sewing) I am going to try to make clothes like this from Downton...
My tote will be featured upon completion, but don't lose sleep waiting for that ;) Not banking on being a master seamstress after my two sewing lessons. Right now, I'm proud to know how to sew four different kinds of seams. At least I knew how last week...
